Why should I make this donation?
What benefit might it bring to me/my business? |
| |
1. Advertising
& PR benefit: Your name will be guaranteed
to reach a minimum of 1800 families and businesses just
to start at the red level with our Rainbow incentive plan.
That is 1800 families that will know that you not only
care about your community, but also about the future of
the community by investing in their children. If you choose
the next level of giving at the orange level you will
get a framed certificate to display to all your customers
in your place of business to further demonstrate your
commitment to their community. This kind of commitment
is what inspires peoples loyalty and patronage through
good and tough times. When they have to make a choice
where to shop they always choose one who gives back to
the community. If you give from the yellow to blue level
of giving you will get advertising in our museum when
we open. We anticipate 18,000 visitors per year. This
number is based upon AYM’s (association of Youth
Museums) national figures that they collect on children
museum visitors in the country. In 2002 33 million children
and families visited children’s museums in the US.
2. Economic benefit:
children’s museums are a family destination point.
A children’s museum brings families to your town.
Once they are there they patronize all the other stores
and restaurants in the area. We give people another reason
to come to Dover. The flea market brings in a certain
group and this expands the variety of people and the hours
they come. Because there are few children’s museums
in NJ and people are always looking for a safe and an
interesting place to take their children that is easily
accessible, our visitors come from a 20 mile radius around
Dover thus casting a wide net of potential customers searching
for this kind of venue. More people more money. Additionally
69% of the children’s museums in downtown areas
are considered the flagship stores for downtown revitalizations
programs.
3. Community benefit:
The benefit that you will bring to the community by supporting
the children’s museum is far reaching and profound.
It benefits you by improving your place of work without
having to really actively do anything. It benefits the
people in the community in multiple ways: it offers a
place for people to work together, to help the children
learn and grow and be responsible. It helps the children
by providing a safe environment for them to grow learn
and experiment. It expands their minds and inspires them
in an infinite number of ways to be better people as they
grow. |
What is Community Children's
Museum? |
| |
The Community Children’s Museum is
creating an innovative children’s museum in the heart
of Dover. We will provide a unique educational service to
the more than 450,000 children ten and younger living within
a twenty-mile radius of Dover. The completed Museum will
feature interactive exhibits on art, science and world cultures,
as well as an art studio and children’s gallery, an
artist-in-residence program, and internships for high school
and college students. |
Where is it located?
Is it easily accessible? |
| |
We have a great location in Dover; walk,
drive, take a train or bus One
block East from the NJ Transit Train Station at77 East
Blackwell Street with a 15 Car Parking Lot; all ours adjacent
to the building, there is ample free on-street parking
or across the street at the train station and it is directly
off Routes 46 & 80, easy to get to, easy to find |
Who is the
museum targeted for? |
| |
It is for the
whole community. Our mission is to serve children 10 and
younger. We have internships for high schoolers and college
students. There are opportunities for artists to serve
as residents. Civic organizations and senior groups all
volunteer their time with us as well. |

for business? |
| |

available at $60 and $120 for the Charter

the museum and last one year from that date. We will have
corporate sponsorships that will offer one fee night per

|
Who will get the museum
newsletter? |
| |
We have a1800 member mailing list. These are people who
have been to our programs in the past and people and businesses
that support our organization. All new members, sponsors
and supporters will get the newsletter. |
|
When will the grand
opening be held? |
| |
The grand opening will be held about two
months after opening.
|
Would I be invited if I participate in the Rainbow
Incentive Plan? |
| |
All supporters and volunteers will be invited
to a pre opening party before the official grand opening
to the public.
|
|
What is the "framed
certificate of appreciation?" |
| |
This is our way of showing our appreciation
for your support that you can hang in you place of business
to show your customers that you support your community and
children through our organization. This does impress people.
|
What happens to my
money if I donate now before you open and before I get
my full advertisements? |
| |
You will get your framed certificate of
appreciation right away and your advertising will start
when the museum officially opens. In the mean time, your
money will go towards the renovations of the building and
toward the building of exhibits in art, science and world
cultures. The more money we raise now to finish the renovations
the sooner we can open.
